I am the resident Hypnotherapist at Champneys Health Spa,

Henlow Grange, Bedfordshire, where I treat clients who come to

see me from all over Britain. I also run very busy practices in Bishops Stortford (Hertfordshire), Saffron Walden (Essex)  and South Woodford, London

I use a combination of Clinical Hypnotherapy, Hypnoanalysis, Counselling and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to treat my clients, ensuring that each treatment is tailored to each client's individual needs. I allow 90 minutes for each initial session which allows time for me and my client to unravel the underlying causes behind the presenting condition, and begin the agreed treatment program.

However I wasn’t always a Hypnotherapist. I was born and raised in Bournemouth and spent my younger  years doing “kids stuff” until the age of 11 when I discovered

swimming.  From that moment on, I was in the water every day. I joined a swimming club and was soon  Local & National  Schools champion in several strokes. I soon progressed to the

National Championships and British Championships where I was often ranked high up in the top 10 fastest swimmers in Britain. I was also fortunate in being selected to swim for England

on a number of occasions.

In later years I continued to swim in Club and Masters events, only “hanging up my costume” in my late 30s, after over 20 years of training and competing.

I spent many years working in the coffee industry  where I realized that, like swimming, motivation, concentration, focus and self belief are key to gaining success in whatever you strive to do.

Having no formal qualifications in further education, as I spent the greater part of my youth in the pool I found that as I have seen and experienced an awful lot of life and have had many, varied life experiences which I feel have given me a lot of empathy and insight into how others think and feel, you could say then, that I have gained a degree in the “University of Life“.

I became a Hypnotherapist as I developed a fascination in how the mind works, due to my own experiences of life. I was intrigued as to why we think, feel and behave in the ways we do. Why do each of us react to an event so differently from another person.? The fact the we are all so different because of the life experiences that are unique to each of us, made me want to know more so I studied Hypnotherapy, gaining a diploma, at the University of Cambridge.
